Project Summary
Square One District Condos is a new multi-phase project to be located at the Rathburn Road and Confederation Parkway southeast corner. It will be surrounded by Burnhamthorpe Rd, Confederation Parkway, City Centre Drive, and Highway 403. This gigantic project, which will go down in Canadian history as the biggest mixed-use downtown development, will sit on a 130-acre piece of land neighbouring Missisauga’s popular Square One Shopping Centre.
According to the master plan, it will be a whopping 37 tower project that will ultimately house over 18,000 residential suites, community facilities, office as well as retail space, towers, and open space, all of which will, in the long run, be served by the local Rapid Bus Transit and the future Hurontario LRT. This will be a residence that will bring together business, life, plus leisure. When completed, it is estimated that 35,000 residents will call this their home.
Also scheduled to be a multi-decade undertaking, this exciting project is being executed by Oxford Properties Group, which owns Square One Shopping Centre, in partnership with Alberta Investment Management Corporation, its development partner. The two will team up with the residential builder, The Daniels Corporation in Square One District Phase I. The developer plans to construct 5,000 additional units over the coming 5 –7 years.
Square One is a growing neighbourhood in the heart of Mississauga. Also known as the City Centre, its main focal point is situated at Hurontario Street and Highway 403. This region holds its very own downtown, with its own developed urban skyline, complete with gleaming glass office towers and upscale condominiums making it an ideal place to live.
Mississauga’s largest mall is aptly named Square One Shopping Centre because it is what defines and characterizes this neighborhood. Everything is tied to it. Residences, offices, and commercial enterprises all live, work, and play in this neighbourhood. This area is a true melting pot, as you’ll encounter diversity everywhere you look. the shopping centre brings an array of different shops and services, and there’s also a movie theatre here.
This central location is also home to many cultural institutions in Mississauga. The Living Arts Centre, Mississauga Art Gallery, and Celebration Square can all be found in this district, as well as at Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion Campus.
